There are many rumors surrounding the features of the upcoming Nintendo NX, but much of these details are still shrouded in mystery

According to Nintendo Life, the company should be releasing details about the gaming console soon in order to allow enough time to build the anticipation of its consumer base without making fans feel like they're being kept in the dark. This may also be ideal for lining up pre-orders and creating retail relationships with gamers eagerly waiting for the NX.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal discussing the recently unveiled "Super Mario Run," analyst Takashi Mochizuki shared that details about the Nintendo NX may be coming soon, presumably in early October, five months before its expected March 2017 release.

Reggie Fils-Aime, president of Nintendo of America, previously acknowledged via Eurogamer the significance of making people understand what makes the Nintendo NX a cut above the rest. They should be able to know and feel how the NX will change the way they play their games and be continuously motivated to immerse themselves into the NX experience with a more regular flow of new games titles.

Given this statement, details about the NX may indeed be coming soon.

One of the speculations that is making the most buzz is Nintendo's alleged plan of making the NX its first VR-ready console. NStyles, who attended a shareholders meeting in Kyoto, claimed via Twitter that Nintendo has been researching virtual reality (VR) technology, but was also harboring concerns about possibly promoting poor eye health because of its games.

Nintendo is not above taking risks when it comes to creating new gaming consoles. However, it also aims to release products that have value, are affordable and can put parents' minds at ease. In line with this, a Chinese report by Commercial Times via Techradar has inspired rumors that the Nintendo NX could possibly come with a heart rate monitoring hardware.

According to the report, Pixart, an integrated circuit design company based in China, is reportedly hard at work in producing CMOS-based heart rate monitoring sensors that will be incorporated into the next-generation VR headsets, and quite possibly the Nintendo NX.

These are all just speculations at this point and Nintendo has yet to release an official statement about its next-generation gaming console.
