Nintendo Switch release date, news: Console to feature 3D Mario game as launch title?
There has been a lot of talk lately about the Nintendo Switch, and the latest buzz involves a 3D Mario launch title as well as the pricing and the power of the console.
According to Emily Rogers, who earned credibility following her accurate information on the console, a new 3D Mario game featured in the reveal trailer for the device, could be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch.
She went so far as to say that the game will be the headlining title for the Nintendo Switch instead of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
Rogers said that the game could be featured in the event to be held for the console in January next year since the 3D Mario game is already "practically finished." She said that the 3D World & Galaxy of the game could actually be showcased at the affair.
The insider also said that the Nintendo Switch will do much better than the company's Wii U, which basically underperformed.
Rogers said that the first six to eight months of the hybrid console should be "impressive" and "completely blows away Nintendo Wii U's first year."
In other news, Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima provided in a recent earnings cal some information about the pricing to expect when Nintendo Switch hits the market.
"Regarding the price, as we have been saying, we are, in principle, not planning to sell it at a loss," he said as quoted by Forbes.
"We would like a wide variety of consumers to enjoy Nintendo products, and we would also like to think in terms of consumersʼ expectations for our products," he added.
As per the abovementioned site, the price tag of the Nintendo Switch should be comparable to that of their other consoles, but it will not be too cheap. Forbes believes that this puts it on a $299 price range.
The Nintendo Switch will be launched in March 2017.
