Nintendo Switch release date, news: Nintendo to give fans a closer look at the first games on the Switch

It's going to be a double header. Nintendo has announced that they would be airing a special installment of Treehouse Live a day after the Nintendo Switch presentation on Jan. 12. Gamers can catch the livestream on Friday, at 9:30 a.m. ET on YouTube and Twitch. The stream will give fans a closer look at the games that are going to be on the Switch.

It is believed that Nintendo will share information about the Switch's price, release date, hardware details and launch titles during the presentation on Jan. 12, before they talk more about the games the next day.

GameSpot has reported that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" will be one of the launch titles for the Switch, although it was previously reported that the game will miss the March launch schedule. Eurogamer said their sources told them Nintendo has decided that the Switch needed "the strongest possible launch lineup," so it looks like it may come out on time after all.

However, the publication also noted that the game's launch schedule for Europe is still unclear. Nintendo of Europe allegedly wanted to test the game for a longer period of time, so it may not come out on time in that area.

"It remains to be seen how the new March timing will affect Zelda in Europe. The best case scenario is, of course, that Nintendo moves whatever resources it has available onto the game to ensure it is ready in March in all European territories. Zelda's positioning as a key launch title suggests this is likely," Tom Phillips said on his article.

Meanwhile, Snakebyte has announced a range of accessories for the Switch at CES 2017. The lineup will feature a foldable headset with 40 mm drivers, and a Starter Kit that includes a carrying bag, stereo earbuds, a cleaning cloth, a screen protector, control caps and game cases.
