Nokia T-1000 release date, specs rumors: Entry-level Nokia E1 receives 3C certification
By now, Nokia's plan to return to the mobile phone market is no longer a secret, and tech pundits are eager to see how the brand manages to fare in this very competitive industry. HMD Global, the Finnish company who bought the rights from Microsoft, is said to be releasing five different Nokia devices this year. Aside from the D1C, which has been spotted several times online now, another device with the model number TA-1000 has popped up just recently.
The Nokia TA-1000 was recently spotted receiving certification from The Compulsory Certification of China (3C). The listing revealed that the device will come standard with 5V/2A charging support. This seemingly confirms that the upcoming smartphone will not have fast charging capability. Unfortunately, the certification did not reveal anything else about the device.
According to previous reports, the smartphone will eventually be called the Nokia E1. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 series chipset with 1 GB of random access memory (RAM). Based on these specs, the device is expected to be an entry-level offering from Nokia. Nevertheless, it will reportedly still come preinstalled with the Android 7.0 Nougat operating system (OS).
In comparison, the previously rumored Nokia D1C is said to come in two variants. The first smartphone will have a 5.5-inch display with 3 GB of RAM and said to cost about $200. Meanwhile, the second device will have a 5-inch Full HD display with 2 GB of RAM and will be priced at about $150. Based on these specs, the Nokia D1C will serve as a midrange offering.
Aside from the Nokia E1 and Nokia D1C, HMD Global is expected to introduce three more mobile devices this year. However, these particular devices have yet to be seen online. They are expected to feature displays between 5 to 5.7 inches with the resolution ranging from Wide Quad HD to Full HD. It is expected that the lineup will also include flagship-level smartphones.
HMD Global is rumored to introduce their Nokia-branded devices at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this February.
