NVIDIA GTX 1050 latest news & update: Specs of unannounced graphics cards leaked
It appears that NVIDIA is preparing a new line of GTX branded graphics cards for the market. Just recently, the purported GTX 1050 was leaked along with its set of specifications.
Based on the specs leaked by BenchLife, the NVIDIA GTX 1050, which is codenamed GP107, will be an entry-level graphics card that will compete with AMD's mega affordable RX line, particularly the RX 470 processor.
The card will be based on the 16 nm FinFET process that premium Pascal cards also use. Techspot points out that it has no disabled cores.
As per the specs, the NVIDIA GTX 1050 has 768 CUDA Cores, which helps it churn a Central Processing Unit (CPU) clock of 1,316 MHz and a boost clock of 1,380 MHz.
The video card also comes with a 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM, which generates a memory clock of 1,752 MHz. The bus width goes up to 128-bit bus width while the bandwidth is at 112.1 GB/second.
On to the texture fill rate, the leaked specs suggest the NVIDIA GTX 1050 will boast 84.2 Gigatexels per second, which is basically 60 percent better than last year's GTX 950, making for an exciting upgrade.
As big as that update was, the thermal design power (TDP) is only at 75 watts, which is actually much less than its predecessor, which pulled off at least 90 watts, despite the higher clock speeds.
Yahoo Tech says that because of the lower TDP, it is likely that it won't need external power cable. The site also says that there will be multiple models of the NVIDIA GTX 1050 distinguished by different coolers, core and memory.
According to Extreme Tech, the NVIDIA GTX 1050 also known as GP107 will be released mid-October. Since it will compete with the AMD RX 470, the graphics card will likely be priced at $150.
