NVIDIA GTX 1070 release date, specs news update: GPU still performs better than most video cards
The American technology company NVIDIA has just announced their plan to roll out two powerful GPUs. According to reports both cards will have a separate release, which will happen in May and June.
The GeForce GTX 1080 and another GeForce GTX 1070 will soon be available for users all over the world. As of the moment, no significant reports have been spread about the two, although both release dates have already been confirmed. The GeForce GTX 1070 will come out on June 10 while the GeForce GTX 1080 will be rolled out on May 27.
Tech freaks are already excited about the two releases. The GeForce GTX 1070 is expected to come out with a cheaper price tag at $379 compared to the superior GeForce GTX 1080 at $599. According to reports, the GeForce GTX 1070 is the more attractive buy between the two. With more than $200 price difference between the two new GPU cards, the GTX 1070 should be the perfect choice for users who have underutilized 4K monitors, The Verge reported.
According to tech observers, although the GTX 1070 may have a slower clock speed compared to the GTX 1080, it boasts an 8 Gbps GDDR5 memory. NVIDIA has also installed an 8 GB VRAM, which is just the same amount they put on the GTX 1080. The cheaper card also has smaller chips architecture which prevents the card from overheating.
Meanwhile, PC Advisor reported that the GTX 1070 will use the same Nvidia's Shadowplay software as the GTX 1080. The two GPUs have the same game recording, video streaming and light customization options.
The publications also suggest that if a user is not planning to be serious about VR or building a supercomputer, the GTX 1070 is the best option to get. Most games today, do not even have 2K options, much less 4K. The GTX 1070 should be more than enough for any 1920x1080 screen resolution.
