NVIDIA GTX 1080 Ti release date, specs rumors: GPU to be a more affordable, stripped down version of the Titan X?

Nvidia is currently working on the GTX 1080 Ti, which some speculate will be announced at the CES 2017 | GeForce

As of now, Nvidia is currently at the top of the graphics card development market with their GTX 1080 receiving stellar reviews from hardcore gamers. Rumor has it that the company is planning on releasing an updated GTX 1080 Ti, and it will be like a stripped down version of the Titan X.

According to reports, the 1080 Ti will be slightly faster than the 1080 which was also released this year. As of now, the highest ranked GPU in Nvidia's lineup is the Titan X, but since that graphics card is considered to be one of the priciest in the market, some gamers are opting for a cheaper option. The GTX 1080 Ti is said to be a more affordable version of the Titan X. This is good news for gamers who want a more powerful GPU but can't afford the price tag.

It's said that the GPU can achieve 4K resolution when it comes to gaming, and it has a 1503 MHz base clock, a 1,623 MHz boost clock, and a 3,328 CUDA core count. If those rumored specs turn out to be true, it would give it higher numbers than the currently dominating Titan X.

It's also speculated that, much like its predecessors, the GTX 1080 Ti will run on the latest Pascal architecture, just like the GTX 1080 and Nvidia's Titan X.

With Nvidia currently crushing its rival AMD, users are always looking out for what the company will put out next. Will Nvidia be able to stay on top or will AMD eventually be up for the challenge?

As for the release of the 1080 Ti, it's speculated that Nvidia will present it at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January next year, but as of now, no official release date has been announced.
