'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers news: Filming underway; new poster features Evil Queen

Fans will be glad to find out that "Once Upon a Time" season 6 is not such a long way off, with recent news that the series has just started filming scenes for the next installment. A new poster teasing the Evil Queen's possible dominance next season has also been released.

Production of the show's sixth run kicked off Friday, July 8. Regular cast members include Lana Parrilla who plays Regina/The Evil Queen, Jennifer Morrison as Emma/Dark Swan, Emilie de Ravin as Belle, Colin O'Donoghue as Hook, Robert Carlyle as Mr. Gold, Rebecca Mader as Zelena, Josh Dallas as Charming, as well as Jared Gilmore who plays Henry. It was also reported that Archie Hopper/Jiminy Cricket will be showing himself, albeit only briefly, when the show returns.

Filming is underway in Vancouver where it is expected to last until spring. This time the show will go deeper into characters' psyches, looking inside them, into what each may be going through. It will follow a format familiar during the first runs of the show. Reports also say that the stories will be drawn from an almost inexhaustible source, The Land of Untold Stories.

The show's fans may remember that the previous two seasons have centered on a character per season, as with the last, which focused on Emma; the one earlier than that dealt with Elsa (Georgina Haig). This season, however, the spotlight will shine on the Evil Queen.

This is not hard to believe as the glittering new poster for the series presents the character rather centrally. The poster's presentation is in the tradition of the last five installments of "Once Upon a Time" wherein the central character for the season is featured. It was announced on the show's official Twitter account.

The caption under the poster tweeted read, "Long live the Queen."

In the meantime, the cast members as well as the show's producers, directors, and creators are preparing themselves for the upcoming San Diego Comic Con on July 23.

ABC's "Once Upon a Time" season 6 is slated for Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m.
