'Once Upon a Time' season 6 return date, cast news, spoilers: Can Emma change her fate as a Savior?
When "Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns, Emma (Jennifer Morrison) will face her fate of dying as a Savior by the sword of Gideon (Giles Matthey). Meanwhile, two pivotal characters might soon be saying goodbye to the show before it gets renewed for another season.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns in March with episode 11 titled "Tougher Than the Rest," and it features Emma coming face-to-face with the person who is supposed to bring her death, Gideon.
David (Josh Dallas) and Hook (Collin O'Donoghue) will try to stop Gideon from reaching Emma, but, as seen from the episode promo, they will be too late. However, Emma might find a way to break free from her ill fate on her own.
The synopsis from ABC reads, "When Emma inspires a familiar face to help her and Regina (Lana Parilla) return home, she discovers the power to change her fate."
Aside from Emma and Gideon's confrontation, the latter will also have a moment with his parents — Gold (Robert Carlyle) and Belle (Emilie de Ravin) — and confess where he was hiding when he went missing.
In addition to that, Regina might be making the ultimate sacrifice for the good of the many when "Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns. "Regina struggles with the realization that everyone, perhaps even Robin (Sean Maguire), is better off in the alternate world where the Evil Queen was defeated," the synopsis read.
Meanwhile, there are speculations which suggest that Morrison and Carlyle will be leaving "Once Upon a Time" if it is renewed for a 7th season.
Morrison shared on Will Malnati's podcast, "The Drop-In," that her contract ends in April and that she doesn't know yet if the show will continue for another season. If it does, the actress then added that she doesn't have it in her to continue playing her character and that she has yet to make a decision.
At the same time, Carlyle shared with Digital Spy that he will soon be at a crossroads where he will have to choose between his wellbeing and his family.
"Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns on March 5 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
