'One Piece' chapter 848 spoilers: Will Luffy kill Big Mom?
After the cliffhanger in episode 847, "One Piece" returns with a new episode that could end up with one notable character's death.
According to spoiler reports, Big Mom's story arc is about to end with her demise. It is speculated that her death will be at the hands of Monkey D. Luffy, the Straw Hats Pirates' leader. If the rumors are proven true, it wouldn't come as a surprise to fans who have followed Luffy and Nami's struggles under Charlotte Linlin.
Elsewhere, Sanji still doesn't want to continue his arranged marriage with Big Mom's daughter, Pudding. He is forced to come up with an effective escape plan so that he can flee before it's too late. It's also worth noting that Brook and Pedro will play pivotal roles in this arc as they wreak havoc on Big Mom's Whole Cake Island. The arrival of Brook and Pedro is just the right distraction that Luffy and Nami need to finally rescue Sanji.
The huge battle for Sanji's freedom reportedly begins when the Vinsmoke patriarch Judge unintentionally offends Big Mom by asking her a question about the absence of giants on her Whole Cake Island. Big Mom will be enraged, and Luffy will make her more infuriated by challenging her to an all-out fight. Luffy will add more fuel to the fire when he announces that his side would win, making Big Mom angrier than ever.
Although Sanji's fate remains unclear, some fan theories claim that Sanji might be able to escape from Big Mom's watch and save his friends. Despite Sanji's fear for Zeff who will be harmed if he didn't go through with the wedding, it is believed that they'll find a way out of Whole Cake Island. There is also a possibility that Luffy, Nami, and Sanji can rescue Zeff as well — away from Big Mom's villainous army.
