'One Punch Man' chapter 66 spoilers: Suiryuu and Sneck face off; Monster Association takes over C-City
The 66th chapter of "One Punch Man" titled "The Strong" featured the Super Fight Tournament round between four-time tournament winner Suiryuu and A-Class Superhero, Sneck, aka Biting Snake Fist.
During the fight, Sneck's thoughts were filled with doubt about the significance of the Hero Association. He was remembering that point in his career when he was feeling particularly confident and brimming with pride for the part he played in keeping the city and its people safe.
Then, he was put down by an S-Class Superhero when he faced a monster he could not beat. This made him realize the difference in strength between A-Class and S-Class.
He also remembered meeting Saitama, who was already stronger than he was even before the bald-headed guy registered with the Heroes Association. Suiryuu came along to prove to him once again that some people, even the most superficial ones with no sense of purpose, were really just naturally strong, skillful, and able to fight for themselves. They could probably even do more to defend the city than most pro superheroes.
Sneck's doubts about the Heroes Association's worth was eventually echoed and given voice by his opponent, Suiryuu, who went on to say that no matter how hard Sneck and the likes of him worked, all they would ever really achieve was self-satisfaction.
No amount of diligence and hard work on their part could ever really change the outcome: that in the end, only the strong would survive. Suiryuu subsequently knocked Sneck out with a single kick.
Elsewhere in C-City, monsters continued to rage havoc on the behest of the Monster Association. They were slowly gaining traction over the city, defeating superheroes and decreasing the Heroes Association's battle strength without even sending their strongest forces.
One of their monsters, Gouketsu was strong enough to defeat the S-Class cyborg, Genos. He was shown heading towards the Super Stadium in C-City where the Super Fight Tournament was currently being held.
At the end of the chapter, the Monster Association's big boss, Orochi, was revealed.
According to Yibada, the illustrator of the manga remake Yuusuke Murata may be setting the stage for the Civil War arc that's currently taking root in the original webcomic created by ONE. Suiryuu's identity also poses some questions since not a lot is known about where he came from or why he is so strong despite claiming to have never taken training seriously.
