"One Punch Man," one of the most highly-awaited Japanese anime series, is expected to return this 2017. With the upcoming arrival of its second season, many speculations about its storyline are currently circulating all over the Internet.

The protagonist of "One Punch Man" is Saitama, a bald "hero" who possesses the distinct ability to take down anything or anyone with just one punch. In the first season, Saitama's encounter with his foes has relatively been easy and has required very little effort from the hero. However, as reported by The Christian Post, the anime series will be very different as Saitama is rumored to taste his first defeat this coming season.

There are speculations that Saitama will be facing a new villain in season 2, Garou. For those who have yet to read the manga version of the anime series, Garou is a former student of Bang who was banished by Silver Fang from his dojo after Garou beat up all other students to display his own power.

"One Punch Man" will reportedly cover the "Hero Hunt" arc, and it is in this storyline that Saitama may be encountering Garou. Perhaps in his desire to further prove his power, Garou will challenge the One Punch Man.

Garou is also expected to forge an alliance with the Monster Association — the enemy team of the Hero Association of which Saitama is a recognized member. The Monster Association is composed of 17 members, each possessing different levels of destructive powers.

With this alliance, it is speculated that Saitama will finally experience his first-ever defeat. Considering the powers possessed by Garou and the members of the Monster Association, it would be interesting to see if Saitama's punch has enough strength and power to defeat them all.

An official announcement has yet to be made about the release date of "One Punch Man" season 2. If rumors are to be believed, fans should expect the anime series to arrive sometime in mid-2017.
