'One Punch Man' season 2 release date, spoilers: Saitama faces three new villains; new season to arrive 2017?
The long-awaited "One Punch Man" season 2 may see titular hero Saitama facing off against three new baddies.
According to reports, these three villains are Garou, Amai Mask, and Lord Boros.
Saitama defeated Lord Boros in the massively popular anime's season 1 finale, but rumors have it that the leader of the Dark Matter Thieves will be back to exact his revenge.
Amai Mask, the top-ranked A-Class hero, may also be brought back. In episode 12 of "One Punch Man," Amai Mask, who is also a singer and actor, almost started a fight with the S-Class heroes, whose failures he had mocked. The outlet suggests that Amai Mask may reappear after witnessing Saitama fail to use his full power against Lord Boros in the season 1 finale.
Saitama's third possible enemy, Garou, was trained by Silver Fang and is said to be the strongest enemy the hero will face.
Meanwhile, there are also rumors that the second season of "One Punch Man" will not be out until late 2017.
While some fans have previously suggested that season 2 could drop in November, The BitBag notes that with the "One Punch Man" team having just started the season's primary phase, it is more likely that season 2 will be released in 2017.
"One Punch Man" has been on an extended hiatus since it aired its first season in 2015.
Though there may still be a long way to go before the story of Saitama is continued, fans can get their "One Punch Man" fix by tuning in to Adult Swim's Toonami block, on which the English-dubbed first season of "One Punch Man" began airing earlier this month.
According to Crunchyroll, the English dub of the popular anime features the voices of Max Mittelman (Saitama), Zach Aguilar (Genos), Robbie Daymond (Mumen Rider), and Erik Scott Kimerer (Speed-o'-Sound Sonic).
The official release date for "One Punch Man" season 2 has not been announced.
