'Orange Is the New Black' season 5 release date, cast & spoilers: Taryn Manning says she's not going anywhere
Since "Orange Is the New Black" season 4 ended in June last year, there have been numerous rumors saying someone is going to leave the show because of this or that.
Well, looks like rumor mongers can leave Taryn Manning off that list because the actress has confirmed that she's not going anywhere.
Entertainment Weekly and TVGuide.com has also reported that a spokesperson from Netflix has told them that the rumor was false and Manning's still on the show.
InTouch magazine came up with the rumor last week when it reported that Manning was quitting. The publication has noted that actress allegedly wants to distance herself from her character in "Orange Is the New Black," so she has decided to move to Los Angeles. InTouch's article is no longer available online, but the damage has already been done. Their credibility has already taken a big hit after the network and Manning debunked their report.
Manning has been portraying Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett since the first season of "Orange Is the New Black." Pennsatucky was introduced in the fifth episode of season 1 and she was initially an antagonist. Well, now it's confirmed that she's going to appear in "Orange Is the New Black" season 5.
Late last year, Manning had admitted to TMZ that she was struggling to stay sober, but she's been getting a lot of help and support from a lot of people. "I am truly grateful for what some may call hitting rock bottom ... Some days it sucks and some days it sucks worse. I am not ashamed of this obstacle because I have accepted that it is okay to not be okay," she said. "I've never felt more accepted, forgiven, and supported than during this period of my life. This is not easy," she added.
"Orange Is the New Black" season 5 will air sometime this year. Den of Geek believes it may premiere in June since the previous seasons also premiered on the same month.
