OS X Yosemite Features: 5 New Features for Apple Mac Users

Apple's game-changing OS X Yosemite has been pleasing Mac users all over the world. Yosemite is not just about the redefined graphics and typefaces of Apple's Mac. It has other features that deserve to be highlighted. Here are the top five features of the new OS:

1) First is the Handoff. This feature is very practical for users who want to integrate all their devices. With the help of Handoff, users can quickly unify all their devices. "For example, imagine reading about the World Series in Safari on a Mac Mini, and then turning to check the weather in an iPad. With OS X Yosemite and iOS 8 installed, you'll find a Safari icon at the bottom left of your iPad's lock screen, ready to be swiped and take you to the same baseball story in Safari on the tablet," according to TIME.

2) The next is the desktop phone calls. As Apple aims to have "continuity" in all its products, this new "Continuity" feature links a user's Mac to his other iDevices via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. After enabling this feature, a user can call other users and can even conduct a conference call. This works just like Skype and Google Voice/Google Chat. Aside from calls, a Yosemite user can also send messages and chat directly with other users from his desktop. It also serves as a phonebook extension for the user's iDevices to the Mac.

3) The third feature is the new security system in Safari called the DuckDuckGo, a non-tracking search engine.

4) The Mail App is also an impressive feature of Yosemite. It allows users to edit attachments even after uploading them to the email. Users can double check their files and edit them before sending.

5) Lastly, there's the AirDrop. Apple introduced this feature years ago but has now enhanced it. The old AirDrop allows the transfer of files only between iOS devices, or between Macs. Now you can do it between an iPhone and a Mac, using Bluetooth and peer-to-peer Wi-Fi.
