'Outlander' season 3 spoilers: Caitriona Balfe teases about the 'beautiful' print shop scene

Claire (Balfe) in "Outlander" season 2 finale promo still | Starz

There are many things that "Outlander" fans can look forward to when the period drama returns for its third season. For starters, viewers will get to see a glimpse of how Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) spent the last two decades of their lives apart from each other. That being said, their reunion is also very much anticipated and one particular scene has apparently been getting a lot of hardcore fans excited.

Those who have read Diana Gabaldon's series of novels on which the TV series is based know the emotional sequence in the print shop where the two star-crossed lovers meet again after 20 years. Balfe, who obviously cannot reveal any specifics even if the narrative is mined from the book, teases that its small screen translation is nothing short of fantastic.

"I think it was written very beautifully," Balfe told Entertainment Weekly when the media outlet caught up with her during the Golden Globes. "Matt B. Roberts wrote it. It has every emotion in it. The excitement, the tentativeness, the nerves, everything. I think it's really beautiful."

The actress also talked about the kind of support she and the rest of the cast of "Outlander" have received from their very passionate fan community, while a lot of people were waiting for her at the event's red carpet. "I feel very special," Balfe admitted. "They are incredible. They are so vocal and so excited. It's amazing."

That love is being reciprocated with hard work and a sped-up production for "Outlander" season 3 to the point that the cast and crew cut down their holidays from six weeks to just two.

"Usually they only get a break for Christmas and while previously this has been about six weeks this time it is only two weeks, as they are moving as quickly as they possibly can," Gabaldon spilled to The Herald in a separate chit-chat. She also provided some production update regarding the sequences they are currently working on for the show's third season.

"There are 13 episodes in season three and they are right in the middle of the sixth episode, the author revealed. "They filmed the eighth episode already — they were out of order as they needed to accommodate one of the actresses' schedules. So they have about six-and-a-half episodes in the bag, which is just about where they should be."

No official release date for "Outlander" season 3 has been determined but the show is expected to be back airing on Starz sometime this year.
