"Overwatch" has recently notched yet another milestone: over 25 million registered players.

The game's official Twitter account announced the news, along with a message that reads: "The world needs heroes, and over 25 MILLION have answered the call! The fight for the future isn't over yet, though... Are you with us?"

Blizzard hasn't released sales numbers for the first-person team shooter, so the 25 million figure is presumably pertaining to total registered accounts. Just last October, the game reached 20 million players, breaking records as the fastest Blizzard title to reach that milestone. That means "Overwatch" has grown by 25 percent in a span of three months.

The game unveiled its new event called "Year of the Rooster" earlier this week. The Lunar New Year event is currently running until Feb. 13, bringing over a hundred themed cosmetic items along with a new brawl. Called "Capture the Rooster," the new brawl lets teams battle it out in Lijiang Tower. The goal for every team is to secure the enemy flag while the opposing team does the same. Players must use their creativity to construct a lineup that has a good offensive speed and stability when it comes to defending their team.

Meanwhile, Bastion will reportedly be tweaked for an upcoming patch from Blizzard. Bastion was one of the characters perceived as overpowered, making him often neglected by players. Principal designer Geoff Goodman recently announced that the studio is working on some Bastion changes for a future update. "I'm actually working on some changes for him right now. I'm not quite sure when these changes will hit the live game, we're still testing different things internally," he explained.

Since "Overwatch" debuted last year, Bastion has gone largely untouched, while other characters have been reworked. Although some players were disappointed with the character's skills, strategies for efficiently dealing with him have emerged. Data from fan site Overwatch Tracker indicate that among all the characters in the game, Bastion has the lowest win rates and play time.
