Floyd Mayweather, Jr. has finally responded to the mounting calls for him to fight Manny Pacquiao. But, unfortunately, his answer was neither "yes" or "no."

On Wednesday night, the still undefeated 37-year-old boxing champion emerged from his apparent seclusion by posting on his official Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts a 15-second video clip of Pacquiao's Round 6 knockout at the hands of Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez during their fourth match in 2012.

Set to Queen's hit song "Another One Bites the Dust," the video kept repeating the line "Another one bites the dust" in apparent mockery of Pacquiao. The video ended with the cryptic line: "Hey I'm gonna get you, too."

In just four hours after the video was posted on Instagram, it drew more than 36,000 likes and 15,000 comments, many of them reproaching the five-division boxing champion for his antics.

This was not the first time that Mayweather had made fun of Pacquiao, the only boxer in the world who poses a solid threat to his claim of being his generation's greatest boxer. Mayweather earlier posted derogatory images of Pacquiao, calling the Filipino champion "broke" and "desperate."

Despite the taunts, Pacquiao has refused to be drawn into a war of words with Mayweather. After his impressive victory against Chris Algieri in Macau last Sunday, Pacquiao ratcheted up the pressure on Mayweather, directly calling on the American to fight him next. "I want that fight (with Mayweather). The fans deserve that fight," Pacquiao told reporters.

Earlier in September this year, following his defeat of Argentine Marcos Maidana, Mayweather spoke clearly atop the ring that "if a Pacquiao fight presents itself, let's make it happen."

The fight has already presented himself, and there appears no other reason for Mayweather to backtrack on his statement.

A Mayweather-Pacquiao fight is considered as the biggest boxing match of this generation. Millions of boxing fans have long clamored for this fight to finally settle the issue on who is the world's best pound-for-pound fighter.

Some pundits say the fight is not going to happen simply because of the distinct possibility that Mayweather may end up absorbing the first loss in his erstwhile spotless career. Mayweather is due for retirement next year with only two more matches left in his contract, and he obviously doesn't want to end his career on a losing note.

However, Daily Mail columnist Jeff Powell wrote on Wednesday that Mayweather will reportedly accept a ground-breaking bout with Pacquiao if the contract includes a rematch clause should he suffer defeat.

Powell said he got the information from Freddie Roach, Pacquiao's trainer. "My understanding is that Floyd is insisting on the rematch if Manny beats him, which I believe he will. That's okay with us," Roach told Powell.

Roach also told Powell that Mayweather has lots to gain by stepping in the ring with Pacquiao. "Floyd is afraid of losing his unbeaten record to Manny. But that's not what defines greatness. (Muhammad) Ali lost, (Sugar Ray) Robinson lost, (Sugar Ray) Leonard lost....but they're still all-time greats. What counts is fighting the best of your era," Roach told Powell.
