'Parenthood' Season 6 Spoilers: Is Joel and Julia's Marriage Really Heading for the Rocks?

One of the strengths of "Parenthood" (Thursdays, 10 p.m, over NBC) can be found in the show's ability to show life as it really happens, without sugar-coating it (although, of course, given that it is a comedy-drama series, there's bound to be some sort of hyper-reality showing up every now and then).

In line with that point of view, this Thursday, Nov. 20, Episode 9 of Season 6, entitled "Lean In," is expected to finally settle the issue of Joel (Sam Jaeger) and Julia's (Erika Christensen) marriage. Will they continue being a couple, or is their marriage really heading for the rocks?

Jason Katims, the creator of the show, has gone on record that a resolution regarding the couple's marriage will take place during Episode 9. But Katims didn't give anymore hints as to whether or not the marriage will lead to a happy ending for the couple. The only sure thing is that there will a resolution, one way or the other.

In the meantime, fans are already preparing themselves to say goodbye to the series, as it will be ending this season.

For those who can't bear the wait and the final resolutions of other issues, here is one spoiler, as shared by the show's creator: There will be a death among the Bravermans, and it will be a major one.

As of writing, no one in the cast knows yet who the death-bound character will be. The unusual thing is that even if the cast members are aware that this season will be the last for "Parenthood," they are still uneasy thinking about whether or not it will be their character who will die in the story.
