When it comes to stylish smartwatches two immediately come to mind – the Pebble Steel and the Asus ZenWatch. Loaded with style and great specs, these devices have emerged as worthy competitors to other great smartwatches.
Design
The body of the Pebble Steel, as its name implies, is made from stainless steel and comes in two colors: black and silver. Its watch face is rectangular and comes with either leather or steel strap which cannot be replaced with any standard 22mm band available in the market. As for the Asus ZenWatch, it also has a rectangular watch face and a body crafted from stainless steel. It also has a rose gold colored steel rim running around its edge. Its brown band is made of premium Italian leather and can be replaced with any standard 22mm band. Comparing their water and dust resistant ratings, the Asus ZenWatch comes with an IP55 rating and can withstand only splashes or jets of water. The Pebble Steel can be submerged in water up to a depth of 50 meters without incurring any problem.
Display
The display on the Pebble Steel is a black and white e-paper screen that measures 1.26 inches with a resolution of 144 × 168 pixels and a density of 176 pixels per inch. As for the Asus ZenWatch, it has a 1.63-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 278 pixels per inch.
Specs
The Pebble Steel can be used with both Android and iOS devices while the Asus ZenWatch can only be paired with Android devices. As for their specs, the Pebble Steel can only run eight apps at a time and has an internal storage of 1 MB. The Asus ZenWatch has 4 GB of internal storage. As for the processor on the devices, the Pebble Steel has a 120 MHz dual core version while the Asus ZenWatch has a Qualcomm Snapdragon400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz.
Price
The Pebble Steel is priced at $199 while the Asus ZenWatch could cost around $260.
