Phil Robertson On Islamic Extremists: 'Convert Them Or Kill Them'
Phil Robertson, patriarch of the Robertson family on A&E's "Duck Dynasty," recently spoke out on Islamic extremists, saying he believes the only solution is to either "convert them or kill them."
Robertson, who is known for his evangelical beliefs, was speaking on Fox's "Hannity" on Tuesday when he addressed the recent news of Islamic State terrorists beheading American journalists, most recently Steven Sotloff.
When host Sean Hannity asked Robertson how he thought America should deal with radical Islam, Robertson replied: "In this case you either have to convert them, which I think would be next to impossible."
"I'm not giving up on them, but I'm just saying, either convert them or kill them. One or the other."
Robertson, who was on the talk show to promote his new book unPHILtered, went on to discuss the topic of sin. Robertson received some criticism back in December when he discussed the topic of homosexuality as a sin with GQ Magazine.
"What people fail to understand coughing up sin and confessing it and giving it to the only one that can remove it, for crying out loud, we're all sinners. America, here's a news flash. All of us have sinned, every last one of us. Some people want to zero in on specific sexual sins," he said. "Look, it's all sin. Whether you lie, whether you steal, whether you rob, whether you rape, look, it's just all sin. One little white lie does you in as fast as being sexually immoral."
Robertson was briefly suspended from his A&E reality show back in 2013 when he discussed homosexuality as a sin and said it is similar to all other sins, including idolatry and drunkenness. He was reinstated to the show shortly after his suspension after the network received criticism for violating Robertson's rights to free speech and freedom of religion.
