PlayStation Plus November 2016 free games list news: Sony offers a Halloween-inspired lineup for Plus subscribers

The official list of PlayStation Plus November 2016 free games has been released and it includes six titles that each offers a different kind of gameplay, from the unconventional "walking simulator" to the more familiar quests of defeating creatures.

Starting Nov. 1 until the end of the month, these games will be available to download for free for PlayStation Plus subscribers. There are two titles each for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PS Vita consoles.

Defeating monsters is all about spelling one's words right. The remastered version of "Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey" is available for download in November for PS Vita and PlayStation 4. | YouTube/PlayStation

The two games available for the PlayStation 4 are the experimental story-based, walking simulator game titled "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture" developed by The Chinese Room, and the humorous, sci-fi inspired shooter game, "The Deadly Tower of Monsters."

Free games for the PlayStation 3 include the off-road racing game "DiRT 3" and the Halloween-inspired role-playing game "Costume Quest 2."

A remastered version of the spelling game "Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey" will be made available for both the PS Vita and the PlayStation 4, while the fast-paced BMX game "Pumped BMX+" will be available for all three gaming consoles.

Most of the titles seem to have been chosen in lieu of the Halloween celebrations, like "Everybody's Gone to the Rapture," which features a post-apocalyptic world devoid of all humans except for the playable character. "Letter Quest: Grimm Journey" is about killing monsters and ghouls by spelling out words from a pool of letters.

Those who only have one of these consoles but are interested in redeeming a non-compatible title may do so. The game will be kept safe in the subscriber's account until he/she is able to buy a compatible system.

A PlayStation Plus subscription comes with a couple more perks other than the monthly free games. It allows the subscriber a chance to play and connect with an online community of gamers. A subscription also ensures regular updates regarding member-only sales and up to 80 percent discount on some of the best PlayStation games.
