Pokemon Bank release date, news: App launch delayed
The Pokemon Company has reportedly delayed the launch date of Pokemon Bank. The app is said to be for the Nintendo 3DS and it would allow users to store and trade Pokemon with a vast majority of users online.
According to GamenGuide, the game was expected for release this coming November with an update planned for January. The update is said to be a national Pokedex. To those unfamiliar with the franchise, a Pokedex is a machine that stores information on Pokemon and the device has been prominently used by Ash in the "Pokemon" anime.
It further notes that the Pokemon Bank is essential for players who want to move their Pokemon within different games. The app has a small yearly fee and once the updates are installed, players can move the Pokemon they have from "Red," "Yellow" and "Blue" via their Nintendo 3DS devices.
For "Pokemon Sun and Moon," players can transfer their collection from "Omega Ruby," "Alpha Sapphire" and "Pokemon X and Y."
With the ever expanding world of "Pokemon," it's granted that players would want some of the Pokemon that they got from previous games to transfer to the much newer titles. The Pokemon Bank app would be essential in making progress from previous games relevant to the later releases.
With players that want to transfer Pokemon form their "Red," "Blue," and "Yellow" accounts, they have to install the game in the same Nintendo 3DS device. If they don't, then they would be unable to transfer Pokemon to "Omega Ruby," "Alpha Sapphire," and "X, and Y."
Polygon says that the national Pokedex is a new feature for the Pokemon Bank and that it is considered to be the "ultimate version" that will have info on over hundreds of Pokemon from many different platforms.
As of now, the release for the Pokemon Bank is delayed but fans can expect it to be launched near the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" premiere which comes out on Nov. 18.
