'Pokemon Go' Eevee evolution guide 2016: How to evolve Eevee into Gen-II Umbreon and Espeon
Evolving Pokemon is one of the missions of the popular augmented reality game, "Pokemon Go." For Eevee, though, this evolution can happen in different ways. Most Pokemon franchise fans already know that the rare and beautiful Eevee can evolve into three different types - fire, water and electric. But Eevee's evolution does not end there.
Slashgear reported, citing a source familiar with the game development, that "Pokemon Go" will receive an update in 2017. In addition, this update will reportedly unlock Eevee's Generation II evolutionary forms - Umbreon, the dark-type Pokemon and Espeon, the psychic-type Pokemon.
Currently, evolving Eevee into different types of Generation I Pokemon requires giving it a specific name. This has already been confirmed by Niantic CEO John Hanke, Comicbook reported. Eevee becomes fire-type Flareon when renamed to Pyro; water-type Vaporeon when renamed to Rainer; and electric-type Jolteon when renamed to Sparky. For Generation II, it is said that Eevee can evolve into Umbreon and Espeon depending on the time of the day.
This theory is based on the evolutions of Eevee in the original game series, but the publication highlighted that it could be different for "Pokemon Go." For instance, Eevee needed to have a Friendship Level of 220 in the original game series for it to become eligible for evolution. For "Pokemon Go" it is speculated that the creature should be fed Pokemon Candy to raise its Combat Points (CP) to a certain level.
Next to consider is the time of day that the evolution will take place. Since Umbreon is associated with nighttime, its evolution should take place at night. Espeon, on the other hand, is associated with daytime so its evolution should happen during the day.
Fans are already excited about "Pokemon Go's" update but it should be noted that Niantic hasn't announced anything official about the said update yet.
