'Pokemon Go' news, update: Next update to make capturing rare Pokemon easier
Niantic's latest augmented reality mobile game, "Pokemon Go," has only been around for a few months, but the mobile game developer continues to expand its contents. There have been a number of patch updates for "Pokemon Go" since the game was first released in North America last July. In the coming days, Niantic is expected to release another game update that will affect the chances of players capturing a rare Pokemon.
"Pokemon Go" players have surely encountered a lot of Pokemon and successfully captured the others. However, only few may have a chance encounter with a rare Pokemon, and it is even more challenging to be able to capture one. The good news is that Niantic is about to shake things up with the rare Pokemon as the next "Pokemon Go" update will change a few things in order to give the players a higher chance to own a rare pocket monster.
"We want to give you a sneak peek of a feature coming soon to Pokémon GO," Niantic stated in their latest blog post. "We are adding a new feature which grants a catch bonus when you earn medals based on catching certain types of Pokémon (Kindler, Psychic, Gardener, etc.). These new bonuses will give you a better chance of capturing Pokémon with a related type."
To further explain the upcoming changes, Niantic said obtaining more Kindler Medals will give a player a higher chance to catch a Fire-type Pokemon such as Charmander, Vulpix and Ponyta. This will also be applied to Fire-type rare Pokemon. The same principle goes for gathering medals after capturing Lightning, Water, Psychic, or Ghost Pokemon.
This next update will surely be a big help for those Pokemon trainers working or playing double time to capture a rare Pokemon. As per BGR, Niantic has not yet confirmed the exact release date of the upcoming update, although it was said to arrive soon.
