'Pokemon Sun and Moon' release date news 2016: Nintendo reveals strongest Pokemon in upcoming 3DS game
The latest trailer for "Pokemon Sun and Moon" shown at last week's Gamescom may have revealed the strongest Pokemon out of the new lineup to be introduced in the upcoming Nintendo 3DS handheld game.
Game Rant reported Nintendo showcasing the new Pokemon at the "Pokemon Sun and Moon" during the Gamescom event last Aug. 18. According to the report, the new Pokemon is called Turtonator which is a hybrid Pokemon. It is a cross between a fire and dragon type Pokemon, resembling a huge Pokemon with firey features at its back. This also appears to be another native creature in the Alola region. The previous teasers of the game already featured other Pokemon in their Alolan forms.
As Turtonator is both a fire and dragon type Pokemon, it has distinct features from both a typical fire Pokemon and a dragon. Similar to a dragon, it has long tail and a pointy head that almost resembles a star. It also has a specialized turtle-like shell on its back that appears to be spewing fire and lava. Turtonator can be found exclusively around the volcanic area of the Alolan region.
Likewise, the trailer also reveals Turtonator's special attacks and defense moves. It can defend itself using its Shell Armor ability, giving it a high-defense level. With this, it will be very difficult for other Pokemon to deal considerable damage on Turtonator. As for its attack moves, Turtonator can also make use of his shell and do the Shell Trap to emit laser-like explosions directed at the enemy. The damage from the Shell Trap is said to be huge enough to threaten its opponents.
Game N Guide reported that Turtonator is the most powerful Pokemon revealed by Nintendo so far in "Pokemon Sun and Moon." Meanwhile, Mobile N Apps already reported the Alolan Meowth, Morelul, Wishiwashi and Alolan Raichu will be introduced together with Turtonator in the upcoming 3DS game. "Pokemon Sun and Moon" is set to be released on November 18 in North America.
