"Poldark" season 2 will return to BBC by Sept. 4, as Ross Poldark's Turner revealed. This time, the season will run for two more episodes than the first, a great way for more events to unfold in the British period drama set in Cornwall and more reason for its avid followers to rejoice at its impending return.

The show's executive producer, Elizabeth Kilgarriff, said "Series two promises to take the audience on another fantastic rollercoaster ride and we're thrilled to know that the story won't end there."

In the upcoming run, Ross will be hard set to make his Cornish mines yield a better living for him and his wife, Demelza Carne Poldark (Eleanor Tomlinson). Their married life will be meeting some challenges as well, and it is speculated that their troubles will be brought by Elizabeth Chynoweth Poldark (Heida Reed).

It can be recalled that Elizabeth had been Ross' fiancée before she got married to Francis Poldark (Kyle Soller), when it was made known that Ross had been killed. It is said that Demelza will be intimidated by Elizabeth, giving rise to some heated arguments between Ross and his wife.

New additions to the cast will also provide an expanding storyline for the much-awaited "Poldark" season 2. Gabriella Wilde will portray the ravishing but calculating beauty, Caroline Penvenen, the niece of the landed Ray Penvenen. Ray will be played by "Midsomer Murders" star John Nettles.

The third addition will be Hugh Skinner. He will play MP Unwin Trevaunance who will woo the heiress to the Penvenen fortune.

Meanwhile, the news of a third season, which came a couple of months before the season 2 release schedule, has been well-received by "Poldark" fans. Damien Timmer who works with Mammoth Screen, the production company behind the series, revealed when the filming of the third run will commence.

Timmer shared, "[I]t's with real excitement that we prepare for both the launch of series two and our return to Cornwall to shoot series three."

"Poldark" season 3 will have ten episodes coming out next year and will be wrought with "twists and turns," according to Kilgarriff.
