Priest Says Iranian Christians' 'Prayers Are Answered' With U.S. Nuclear Deal

An Iranian priest has recently spoken out in support of the historic nuclear arms deal signed between Iran and western powers, saying Iranian Christians' "prayers have been answered" through the deal.

While U.S. President Barack Obama continues to receive criticism in the U.S. regarding his recent nuclear arms deal reached with Iran, Chaldean Iranian priest Hor Aslani Babroudi recently told Fides News Agency that the prayers of Iranian Christians have been answered.

"I can certainly say that all Christians, along with all the Iranian people are rejoicing because their prayers were answered," Babroudi, who is the national director of the Pontifical Missionary Society of Iran, told Fides News Agency in a recent interview.

"From now on it will be easier for the world to have a positive outlook toward Iran, the desire for harmony will prevail and it will be easier to show everyone that Iran is not what some media networks report. We can work and use science for the good of the country, we can develop technologies to live better," the priest added.

President Obama has received criticism from some who argue that the recent deal reached with Iran regarding a halt to its nuclear arms production will not be effective.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz recently suggested that the deal, which involves a lifting of economic sanctions in exchange for a halt to nuclear arms production, will only encourage the Middle Eastern country to fund terrorist organizations with a possible $50 billion signing bonus.

Others have accused the president and the White House administration of not doing enough to help four imprisoned Americans, including American Pastor Saeed Abedini, achieve freedom from Iran.
