'Prison Break' Season 5 air date and spoilers: Lincoln Burrows to die?

Fans of "Prison Break" thought that the series had long ended with its fourth season back in 2009, but now a fifth season is in the works, and it will be seeing the return of Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell). Rumor has it that the season will see the death of Lincoln and a reunion between Michael and Sara Tancredi (Sarah Wayne Callies).

According to reports, this time around, Michael will be needing the help of Lincoln to escape jail in Yemen run by the terrorist group, ISIS. Escaping also doesn't seem to be the endgame since it's possible that Michael's escape could be linked with the collapse of the local government. Fans have also speculated that Lincoln will meet his demise in the coming season. It's said that he will sacrifice himself in order to save his brother.

The Scofield brothers' dynamic is considered to be one of the driving elements of the series. The relationship has even transcended to other shows with "DC's Legends of Tomorrow" having Miller star as Captain Cold opposite Heat Wave played by Purcell.

Oddly enough, another report speculates that the person dying in the upcoming season will be Michael's love interest, Sara. Fans are eager to see the two have a reunion in the show, but it will be ultimately up to the showrunners if they will give audiences what they want.

"Prison Break" is a highly acclaimed series which currently has a score of 8.5/10 on IMDb. It's listed as #218 on the list of top television shows.

This upcoming season is said to have only 9 episodes, and a sixth season will depend greatly on the reception of this season. The show still has the involvement of creator Paul Sheuring and the original cast, so fans can expect more of the same show that they fell in love with back in 2005.
