'Quantico' season 2 news, spoilers: POTUS creates special task force to track down AIC terrorist group
"Quantico" returns from its month-long hiatus with both timelines finally converging. In the previous episode, President Claire Haas (Marcia Cross) summoned Alex (Priyanka Chopra), Dayana (Pearl Thusi), Shelby (Johanna Braddy), Ryan (Jake McLaughlin), and Nimah (Yasmine Al Massri) to Washington D.C. to form a top-secret team tasked with finding the people behind the terrorist group dubbed as the AIC. The members of the covert squad will report only to President Haas, given that they do not know just how great the terrorists have infiltrated the government.
While the team is in the dark about the terrorists, one thing that the group does know is that Lydia (Tracy Ifeachor) is working with them. A new character, Clay (Hunter Parrish), who the son of President Haas and the brother of Caleb (Graham Rogers), is assigned as the head of the task force.
Meanwhile, Leon (Aarón DÃaz), who is seeking immunity after his involvement in the AIC, was kidnapped at the end of episode 15. More details about his kidnappers will be revealed in the upcoming episode, which is titled "Mockingbird."
Art will imitate real life in episode 15 of "Quantico" season 2, with Owen Hall (Blair Underwood), who was sprung from federal prison, leading an investigation against a syndicate that is dedicated to spreading fake news. What he and his team do not know is that the confrontation with the ring will become bloody.
More information will also be revealed about Clay in the upcoming episode. In episode 14, he showed an almost instant dislike for Shelby, who he was involved with both his brother, Caleb, and his father, Senator Clayton Haas. Interestingly, however, he also seems to show interest in her. This is one potentially interesting story arc, considering that Krysta Rodriguez has been cast to play his girlfriend. Incidentally, Graham Rogers will be reprising his role for more than one episode on "Quantico," according to showrunner Josh Safran on an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
According to CarterMatt, episode 15 will give viewers a taste of how the show's new direction and treatment will be handled for the upcoming episodes. The restructuring of "Quantico" was based on viewers' feedback.
Episode 15 of "Quantico" season 2 will air on March 27, Monday, at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
