Quentin Tarantino is easily one of the most celebrated filmmakers in Hollywood today. He's responsible for cult hits like "Pulp Fiction," "Reservoir Dogs," and "Inglourious Basterds. His most recent movie, "The Hateful Eight," was also a critical success, and as of now, Tarantino is reportedly researching on the 1970s to prepare for his next project.

According to Deadline, Tarantino revealed during a masterclass at the Lumière Festival in Lyon that he has been delving into 1970s research. Some people have pointed out that a lot of Tarantino's influence comes from movies of the 1970s, so it's no wonder that he may be excited to work on that era.

As for the project itself, Tarantino is still unsure of what output his research would be bringing. He said during the festival, "Am I going to write a book? Maybe. Is it going to be a six-part podcast? Maybe. A feature documentary? Maybe. I'm figuring it out."

Speaking of the 1970s, Tarantino has also commented on the recent Marvel Netflix series, "Luke Cage," wishing that the production kept the hero in the '70s. Tarantino revealed that he was actually up to making a "Luke Cage" movie back in the '90s, but he instead chose to work on "Pulp Fiction."

The movie was able to skyrocket Tarantino into pop-culture fame, but fans can't help but wonder what a Tarantino-directed "Luke Cage" movie would look like. During an interview with Nerdist, Tarantino said that he would've picked Laurence Fishburne to star as the Hero for Hire, but studios were also talking about putting Wesley Snipes in the role.

"Luke Cage" was a hero created in the 1970s by Marvel Comics as a representative for the "Black Power" movement that was going on at the time. Even Luke Cage's other alias, Power Man, was meant to be homage to the movement.

Will Tarantino's next project eventually be a movie? Though he may not be clear on just exactly what he wants to do with the research, but fans are always eager to lineup for the next Tarantino flick.
