'Rainbow Six Siege' Velvet Shell Update release date news: details hinted by Ubisoft
The next big update for "Rainbow Six Siege" Year 2 had been teased.
On the game's official Twitter account, Ubisoft dropped hints about the first downloadable DLC that will be released for the second season contents of the popular first-person tactical shooter video game.
According to the post, "Operation Velvet Shell approaches." However, the post also claimed that the details about the upcoming DLC will be revealed during the upcoming Six Invitational event happening in Montreal, Quebec on Feb. 3–5.
Based on the event's schedule, Ubisoft will talk about the operators, map, and features of the "Operation Velvet Shell" DLC on the Invitational's second day, while the DLC live demo will happen during the third and last day of the event.
While the details remain under wraps, speculations claimed that the upcoming "Operation Velvet Shell" DLC will also introduce two new operators as well as a new map just like the past DLC.
iDigital Times also speculated that since the teaser art for "Operation Velvet Shell" featured a pixelated purple fabric, it could symbolize the modern cloaking capes that could possibly be used by stealth operatives. This means that the upcoming DLC will feature a change in the dynamics of the multiplayer games.
On the other hand, Game Rant claimed that "Operation Velvet Shell" will feature the map of the game's new region, which is believed to be from Spain.
To be able to get the next "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC, players must buy the Year Two season pass. This will also allow them to get two characters for free or unlock them by going through micro-transactions within the game. Those who will opt not to purchase the Year Two season pass can also access the game's new operators by using the in-game or real-world currency.
More details about the next "Rainbow Six Siege" DLC are expected to be announced soon.
