Razer Project Valerie release date, specs news: Gaming laptop equipped with three 4K displays
Razer is considered as one of the leaders when it comes to high-performance gaming hardware and software so it wasn't at all surprising when the company introduced Project Valerie, the world's first triple display laptop, at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). The multi-monitor laptop aims to set a new standard when it comes to immersive entertainment and portable computing.
"Multi-monitor desktop set-ups are becoming more necessary for professionals, creators, and gamers. For the first time, we've engineered a solution that users can take with them. Project Valerie promises all of the functionality of three screens and none of the hassle," said Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO.
Project Valerie features three 17.3-inch 4K IGZO displays that deliver an expansive 180-degree 12K gaming experience and with NVIDIA's G-Sync technology, users are ensured of smooth framerates with no lags during gaming sessions.
The multi-monitor laptop is based on the new 17-inch Razer Blade Pro. It features the company's iconic design and has a unibody CNC aluminum chassis. It is just 1.5 inches thick and weighs less than 12 pounds. To ensure maximum heat dissipation, the laptop comes with a custom-designed fan and dynamic heat exchangers with a vapor chamber.
Project Valerie has been equipped with Ultra-Low-Profile Mechanical switches that mimic the feel of full-size mechanical keyboards. Each key has a true actuation and reset point and can register 65 grams of force. The laptop's keyboard, trackpad and monitors also support Razer Chroma so it is capable of lighting effects and customization.
Furthermore, Project Valerie is powered by the NVIDA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card which means it is compatible with virtual reality (VR) headsets like the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift
While Project Valerie may have been designed for gaming, it is also suitable for creative professionals given the massive screen real estate and 100 percent Adobe RGB color accuracy. Ultimately, it is a portable PC that is capable of handling any kind of task even while on the go.
Razer has not announced pricing and availability for Project Valerie.
