'Red Dead Redemption 2' release date: Will the second title launch this year?
It's been six years since Rockstar Games released the first title in the "Red Dead Redemption" franchise. Though there have been no official statements about the progress of the sequel, fans are hoping that the video game developer will launch the game soon.
According to reports, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick confirmed that "Red Dead Redemption" is a permanent franchise. Hence, developers are bound to release more games in the future. Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive, however, remain mum about the details of the sequel.
If the latest rumors are true, "Red Dead Redemption 2" will be having a new multiplayer mode. New maps that are far larger than its preceding game will also be introduced.
Tech Radar previously reported that the second installment of the franchise could be a prequel. A map for the upcoming video game was reportedly leaked. It revealed the Great Plains. Unlike the previous game, the leaked map of the area didn't have a railroad, which led the news outlet to believe that "Red Dead Redemption 2" is a prequel.
Other leaked maps revealed Old Fort Walls, which could mean that gamers will be seeing resettlements in the forthcoming video game. Moreover, reports suggested that the next game will be featuring an Indian war story. Recent speculations suggest that the second installment will feature a Larned Sod, which was a post in the1850s wars among Indians.
Many are hoping for the game to come out soon, but the developers have still kept the game details and the potential release date a secret. Earlier this year, fans expected the developers to announce the specifics of the game at the Electronic Entertainment Expo held from June 14 to 16.
The developers have yet to be confirm the latest rumors. Hence, gamers should treat the reports as speculation until proven otherwise.
