Report: Victim of Josh Duggar Molestation Scandal to Pursue Civil Suit
A recent report suggests that one of the victims of reality show star Josh Duggar's molestation scandal will reportedly be pursuing a civil lawsuit against the 27-year-old.
A source who claims to be close to the situation recently told InTouch magazine that a non-family member involved in the molestation scandal is reportedly planning to go to court, where they may have to face Duggar.
The source told the media outlet that if the civil suit is pursued, Duggar will be "forced to reveal in court all the details about the scandal they have been covering up."
"I have heard a [nonfamily] victim is preparing to sue. This whole sordid affair with Josh rattled a lot of people, including the victim, who has to relive this nightmare all over again after watching Josh's parents go on TV and whitewash what happened," the source continued.
"It's not uncommon for a victim to come forward years after the abuse has taken place," the source continued. "She may have repressed it or processed it in her own way, but Josh's public admission that he did something wrong — and how Jim Bob and Michelle handled everything on TV — surely had to affect her."
Last month, Josh Duggar of the TLC reality show Duggar family issued an apology after it was revealed that he had molested multiple underage girls, including his sisters, ten years ago when he was a teenager.
Duggar's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, and two of his sisters, Jana and Jill, then held interviews with Fox News' Megyn Kelly regarding the molestation scandal.
