'Resident Evil 7: Biohazard' DLC release date, latest news: Capcom announces two DLC packs coming first on PS4
It was only recently that "Resident Evil 7" has been made available by Capcom. In celebration of the launch of the hotly-anticipated horror game, the company announced that two packs of DLC will be arriving starting next week, on Jan. 31.
As announced on the Capcom Unity blog, two additional DLC packs will be available for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" very soon. The packs will be available not only on the Deluxe Edition of the latest "Resident Evil" game title but also in the Season Pass. The DLCs can also be purchased separately.
The first pack, titled "Banned Footage Vol. 1," will be available on the PlayStation 4 first, beginning on Jan. 31. It will then arrive on the Windows PC as well as the Xbox One on Feb. 21.
As summarized by Polygon, the first DLC pack, priced at $9.99, includes two new pieces of videotape, which contains scenes that players actually interact with throughout "Resident Evil 7." These videotapes are individually labeled as "Bedroom" and "Nightmare," which players have been warned to be undeniably terrifying.
A new game mode will also be introduced in "Banned Footage Vol. 1." Called "Ethan Must Die," the game mode is "tough as nails" and is separate from the tapes and story of the main game. However, this additional mode does not support the PlayStation virtual reality feature.
The second pack, titled "Banned Footage Vol. 2," will be made available on the PS4 starting on Feb. 14. Priced at $14.00, it will then be launched on other platforms starting Feb. 21. The pack contained two more tape scenarios labeled as "21" and "Daughters."
An extra mode will also be launched in the second DLC, called "Jack's 55th Birthday." In this mode, gamers must race against the clock and feed Jack tons of food. It is a comical extra game mode which is separate from the story of the main game. However, it also does not support PSVR.
Aside from announcing the two DLC packs which are set to be launched in the weeks to come, Capcom also unveiled a launch trailer for "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard."
"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" is now available on the PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
