After being launched on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's" the Beginning Hour demo finally hits Steam.

As promised, the PC demo for "Resident Evil 7" arrived on Steam last Monday, Dec. 19. The new demo finally lets a new group of players get a chance to try ou the survival horror game that comes out in January. PC players can download the Beginning Hour demo on Steam for free. "You wake up alone on the floor of an abandoned farmhouse. Daylight is quickly fading. You must find a way out," an excerpt from the demo's description reads.

For further details about the PC demo, a complete rundown of its minimum and recommended system requirements can be viewed here. Capcom first announced the "Resident Evil 7" PC demo earlier this month, and the developer initially promised that the players could expect a "multitude of PC-specific settings and graphics options." Thanks to a user from NeoGAF, players now know that those options and settings include chromatic aberration, ambient occlusion, dynamic shadows, bloom, and much more.

To give fans a glimpse of how the demo looks in a high-quality display, Dark Side of Gaming released screenshots of the game in 4K display. The media outlet points out that given the game's numerous graphic settings and its slow-paced nature, it is still playable (20–30fps) in 4K even on a single GTX980Ti. Although the Interlaced Rendering mode gives the maxed out PC demo a significant performance boost, the Normal mode was used in the screenshots to capture true 4K photos. From the looks of it, the PC version will certainly be polished once it comes out next year.

Developed and published by Capcom, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be released on Jan. 24 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows PC. Its arrival is just a few days before the franchise's latest movie, "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," hits the big screen on Jan. 27.
