Many fans of the "Resident Evil" game franchise have very high expectations for the upcoming installment in the series, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard." This is perhaps the most anticipated video game from Capcom in years, especially in the highly popular "RE" game series, as "Resident Evil 7" will mark the franchise's return to its horror roots. However, there are some fans who are beginning to question whether the action in the combat gameplay of "Resident Evil 7" will be lessened.

As reported by Yibada, many fans have noted from the previous "Resident Evil 7" teasers in Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 and Gamescom 2016 that the upcoming sequel's combat is missing the action. The game demos released by Capcom so far have not shown as much action as those in the recent "Resident Evil" game titles.

With this, Capcom said that "Resident Evil 7" will still have the same kind of combat gameplay just like the first "Resident Evil" installments. In an interview with Metro UK, "Resident Evil 7" game producer Masachika Kawata revealed that the fans can expect the same action and intensity in the upcoming video game, although the action in the combat gameplay will be shown "little by little" throughout the game. With this, the gamers might not see the fast-paced and action-packed sequences like those featured in "Resident Evil 5" and "Resident Evil 6."

Capcom has begun showing the main contents of the "Resident Evil 7" gameplay, including the new characters and setting. During Gamescom 2016, the new "Resident Evil 7" trailer introduced Mia, which will serve as the game's main character. She was shown being hunted by the hideously deformed villain, Marguerite Baker. Furthermore, the latest demo called "Lantern Demo" will feature a terrifying encounter with Marguerite Baker, as the player-protagonist tries to solve the mystery in the Baker's haunted residence.

Yibada noted that the new "Lantern" demo is similar to the "Beginning Hour" demo released earlier by Capcom, confirming that the players can expect more encounters with dead characters. Moreover, the VHS tapes in the house will help the players in solving the puzzles and figuring out their survival in the game.
