'Resident Evil: Biohazard' release date, news & update: Collector's Edition leaked but will it feature copy of actual game?
"Resident Evil: Biohazard" is coming with a Collector's Edition, at least according to a listing on GameStop Italy, which has now been taken down.
As per the listing, the said edition will come with a "3D finger," a 16GB USB memory stick designed after that notable dummy finger in the demo for "Resident Evil: Biohazard."
The Collector's Edition will also come with exclusive in-game downloadable content (DLC), a 20th anniversary art book, five lithographs, a model replica of the Baker family house and three alternate covers.
The game's description reads:
"Set within a sinister plantation mansion in modern day rural America and taking place after the dramatic events of Resident Evil 6, players experience the terror directly from the first person perspective for the first time in the Resident Evil series. Embodying the iconic gameplay elements of exploration and tense atmosphere that first coined "survival horror" some twenty years ago, Resident Evil 7 biohazard delivers a disturbingly realistic experience that will define the next era in horror entertainment."
There was no mention of the base game being part of the "Resident Evil: Biohazard" Collector's Edition. To get it with the game, gamers will have to pay €150.96. Without the copy of the base game, the price of the edition comes down to €99.98.
Meanwhile, PlayStation Universe believes that the "Resident Evil: Biohazard" Collector's Edition is only exclusive to Europe although a North America release is expected.
The fact that the listing on the GameStop Italy website was removed suggests that this edition might actually be a real deal that fans will be able to purchase.
At the moment, the only special edition for "Resident Evil: Biohazard" that is on offer for gamers in North America is the Deluxe Edition.
This one comes with the main game and three add-on content packs. The first one contains four short side stories. The second and third one has one additional story episode each. Those who pre-order it will also get the "Resident Evil: Biohazard" theme.
"Resident Evil: Biohazard" will be released on Jan. 24, 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and personal computer (PC). It will also be playable on the PlayStation VR.
