'Rizzoli & Isles' season 7 spoilers: Maura and her mother reconnect as she prepares for her surgery

The upcoming episode of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 will have Maura (Sasha Alexander) heeding the advice of her friends and finally undergoing surgery to correct her brain injury.

Maura can still feel the effects of the injury she sustained from Alice Sands (Annabeth Gish). The usually alert and adept Maura that her friends know suddenly became forgetful and her friends could only watch as she struggled with subdural hematoma. Her friends suggested surgery, but Maura was adamant.

It wasn't that Maura feared the surgery. She was more concerned with the results and what it would do to her "huge brain." However, Jane's (Angie Harmon) assurance that nothing would change even if Maura's brain is permanently damaged seemed to sit well with the latter, so she decided to go through with the surgery. Monday's episode titled "Shadow of Doubt" would focus on this arc.

"When a wealthy woman is found dead at the bottom of her stairs, we realize that this was no ordinary slip-and-fall accident. The team is pressed into a game of cat and mouse with a clever killer determined to get away with the perfect crime. Plus, when Maura decides to undergo minor surgery, the surprising part of her healing will be reconnecting with Hope (guest star Sharon Lawrence)," read the synopsis for episode 5.

Viewers of the show know that things are not too peachy with Maura and her mother, so it would be exciting to find out how the two would reconnect as the medical examiner recuperates from her surgery.

Meanwhile, episode 5's case would focus on the death of a wealthy woman who was found dead in her mansion. The woman was found at the bottom of the stairs, and there seems to be strong evidence of a foul play. Could the woman have been killed because of her money? Did she know who her killer was?

As Spoiler TV said, the case would plunge the team into a deadly game of cat and mouse since the killer seems to have perfected everything to get away with a "perfect crime."

Episode 5 of "Rizzoli & Isles" season 7 titled "Shadow of Doubt" will air on June 27 at 9 p.m. EST on TNT.
