As revealed in the teaser for episode 4, Mary will handle her new life. She will have to deal with the reality that she is powerless. The episode titled "Night's Black Agents" will further delve into the consequences of betraying her son (Oliver Bell). Mary will also meet with the Essex witches, the group who brought her back to life using their own powers. For now, Mary will use the only power she has left: her femininity. Furthermore, in the forthcoming episode, reverend Cotton Mather (Seth Gabel) is expected to perform an exorcism on himself.

Anne Hale (Tamzin Merchant) will try to control her husband, Mather. She shoved her rat familiar Brown Jenkins down his throat to have total control over him. Mather, on the other hand, will secretly use the right spell and brew the right potion to remove the rat. To avoid his wife and his agonizing life in Salem, Mather will move to Boston.

As teased in the synopsis, Cotton is up for a big surprise in the upcoming episode. Though it has not been confirmed, Anne will reportedly be pregnant. A trailer that was launched before season 3 aired hinted at Anne's pregnancy. To add, the promo showed Anne being tortured when her husband manages to flee.

To recap, episode 3 of season 3 showed Mary being punished by her son, the devil. For attempting to kill him, the devil decided to punish his mother instead of ending her life. The sorceress received a punishment much worse than death as she was left powerless, like a mundane woman.

The current season of "Salem" doesn't launch an episode a week. The latest episode will premiere on Wednesday, Nov. 30, at 9 p.m. EST on WGN America.
