Samsung A7 vs Xiaomi Mi Note Review: Specs, Price and Features Comparison - China Phone Takes On Korean Rival
The mid-range Galaxy A7 from Samsung is a slim smartphone with a full metal body and great features, but the Mi Note from Xiaomi is proving that it can provide a stiff challenge in terms of specs and design.
Both devices have similar design elements including the same aluminum frames. But while the Galaxy A7 has a full metal frame and back panel, the Mi Note has a metal frame with Corning Gorilla 3 Glass on its front and back. The front of the Mi Note is slightly curved while the back has a bigger curve.
As for their displays, the Galaxy A7 has a slightly smaller 5.5-inch screen compared to the 5.7-inch version on the Mi Note. As for the type of their displays, the Mi Note has an IPS LCD screen, with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 386 pixels per inch. The Galaxy A7 has a Super AMOLED screen with a resolution of1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch.
Coming to specs, the Galaxy A7 has two versions. The dual SIM version has a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset and a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53and Quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. While the single SIM/LTE version has a Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset and a Quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and Quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU. As for the Mi Note, it has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801chipset, Quad-core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and Adreno 330 GPU.
In terms of RAM, the Galaxy A7 has 2 GB while the Mi Note has 3 GB. However, the Mi Note does not have a microSD slot while the Galaxy A7 has one which can be used to add external storage of up to 64 GB.
Finally in terms of price, the 16 GB version of the Galaxy A7 is expected to be sold at around $420 when it is released. The 16 GB Mi Note is priced around $399.
