Samsung Galaxy A7 vs HTC One (M8) Comparison: Specs, Features Review - Battle Between 2 Full Metal Phones
The recently launched Samsung Galaxy A7 features a full metal body which has long been avoided by the Korean tech company although premium smartphones like the HTC One (M8) and those in the iPhone range have such kind of body.
Design is where the Galaxy A7 and the One (M8) are equal, as both phones have premium features, including full metal bodies. In addition the Galaxy A7 is amazingly thin at 6.3mm and even manages to beat the iPhone 6 in this aspect. The One (M8) is much thicker at 9.4 mm.
Comparing their displays, the One (M8) has a 5.0 inch Super LCD3 capacitive screen with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a density of 441 pixels per inch, while the Galaxy A7 has a bigger Super AMOLED screen measuring 5.5 inches with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels and a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. As for their screen to body ratio, the Galaxy A7 has 72.5 percent while the One (M8) has 66.7 percent.
As for their specs, the One (M8), which was released in 2014, has a Qualcomm MSM8974AB Snapdragon 801 chipset, along with a Quad-core 2.3 GHz CPU and an Adreno 330 GPU. On the other hand, the Galaxy A7 has two models. The Dual SIM 3G version comes with a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 chipset, a Quad-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 and Quad-core 1.0 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 405 GPU. As for the single SIM version it has an Exynos 5 Octa 5430 chipset, a Quad-core 1.8 Cortex-A15 GHz and Quad-core 1.3 Cortex-A7 GHz CPU and Mali-T628 MP6 GPU.
Both devices come with 2 GB of RAM and have microSD slots which can be used to add external storage up to 64 GB in the Galaxy A7 and 128 GB in the One (M8).
Finally in terms of price, the Galaxy A7's expected price tag is around $420 without a contract while the HTC One (M8) is priced at $669 without a contract.
