Android 7.1.1 Nougat is coming inevitably to Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. This is evidenced by the carrier testing activities done for the flagship devices, which also include Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

This is definitely one of the reasons why the device owners should rejoice over the holidays. To be precise, those who own Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be happy to know that an international carrier is currently giving the devices a software test so that Android 7.1.1 Nougat can be applied to them in no time.

Vodafone Australia reportedly updated their Software Update Weekly Wrap last week, which means that the upgrade can be rolled out as soon as no issues are seen during the testing phase. In case the latter occurs, the company will still have to work with Samsung and fix the issue. Otherwise, the update will immediately be released to their customers.

The move by Vodafone Australia led to another news that other international carriers will follow suit. Several reports say that a number of carriers have not indicated the progress of their software updates, but it is imminent that they will also conduct their own testing.

In the United States, T-Mobile has already rolled out the same test for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge and this is currently categorized as being in the phase of "manufacturer development." Verizon, on the other hand, has recently announced that their devices will be able to receive an Android Nougat update on January 2017.

There is no official word whether AT&T and Sprint are going to do the same, but both telco companies have been answering the inquiries of their customers via their own blogs and social media accounts.

Until this time, no carrier has announced any specific date of when Android 7.1.1 Nougat will be released for Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, but more updates are expected to be released soon.
