This year has been pretty challenging for Samsung, especially after the recent debacle with their recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note 7. The South Korean tech giant ordered a recall of all the Galaxy Note 7 units that is causing a huge blow to their stocks in the market. After the dust has settled, it is expected that Samsung will bounce back big time in 2017, with at least two huge Galaxy devices slated for release.

The rumors are rife that 2017 will be the year for Samsung's Galaxy S8 and Galaxy A7. With regards to Galaxy A7, the mid-range smartphone is expected to boast a huge improvement over its predecessor. One of the rumored improvements will be on the camera features of A7. According to Game N Guide, the Galaxy A7 will have a 16-MP camera accompanied by autofocus, face detection, LED flash and touch focus features. Interestingly, its front or selfie camera will be 16 MP as well, the first time that a front camera will boast more than 8MP.

Galaxy A7 is also said to have its camera equipped with 4K recording, which will allow video recording in full HD quality. However, it is still unclear if Samsung will indeed push through with these camera improvements.

Neurogadget reported that the Galaxy A7 will sport a 5.5-inch screen display with is 1920x1080p maximum display resolution. It will be powered by a Cortex A53 octa-core chipset with 1.8 GHz.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to surprise the public with its all-new curved design. According to Forbes, the Galaxy S8 will be featuring curved screens for the first time in the S-series. It is also expected to have at least two variants with the same curved feature.

Perhaps the most interesting rumor about the Galaxy S8 is the removal of the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack, following the footsteps of the iPhone 7 that launched its own wireless audio technology. However, Samsung might opt to develop a new jack adaptor of their own.
