Samsung Galaxy S8 news, specs, release date: Samsung to win back customers' trust with Galaxy S8
In business, there is no other way but up. South Korean tech giant Samsung did just that by focusing all their efforts on the Galaxy S8, as they aim to bring back the trust of the market after the recent Note 7 tragedy. It seems that Samsung is not going to throw in the towel just yet as the competition continues to heat up for the holidays.
Lee Kyeong-tae, VP of Samsung, explains that although the company flounders without a flagship device, they will be able to get back on track in the coming months. In a statement on The Wall Street Journal, Lee confirmed that the S8 is coming and it will feature an innovative design and an improved artificial-intelligence service.
On top of these, a few rumors suggest that the new S8 will likely have dual waterproof cameras, an iris scanner and a finger print scanner. Moreover, the upcoming smartphone will reportedly be 5.5 inches in size with a 4K or UHD display. It will have 6 GB of RAM and it will be equipped with a Snapdragon processor.
While Apple has Siri, Samsung has acquired Viv, an artificial Intelligence (AI) system. Both Siri and Viv were created by Dag Kittlaus and Adam Cheyer, but rumor has it that Viv is more advanced compared to the Apple AI.
Viv must have been one of the biggest investments of Samsung this year which might hold the key in preparation for their flagship models in the coming months.
In previous reports, Note 7 buyers who trade in their device for a Galaxy S7 will have a chance to get a new S8 and Note 8 smartphone which will be launched next year.
Although Samsung has yet to win back the trust from their patrons, the recent setbacks of the world's top smartphone maker might also be an opportunity to prove to the world once again that they are among the leading innovators in the tech industry.
