Samsung has recently confirmed the existence of their upcoming flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S8.

As reported by Forbes, the South Korean tech giant has inadvertently confirmed the existence of the new smartphone and its 'Galaxy S8' name when it applied them to the United States Patent and Trademark Office to register the upcoming mobile device.

The anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy S8 is undeniable, especially with all the rumors and information leaks that have been circulating all over the internet about the much-awaited mobile gadget. In fact, recent leaks have revealed a "first look" at what is allegedly the designed fascias for both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge.

According to a shared photo on Twitter, the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Edge will have dramatically reduced top and bottom bezels, showcasing a more stunning look and style. The bezel reduction is expected to allow Samsung to adapt larger screens into the upcoming smartphones, which are visibly around the same size as its predecessors, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge.

Both versions of the S8 are also shown to have curved "Edge" displays. Hence, it looks like the two variants of the Galaxy S8 will now only differ in their sizes.

Steve Hemmerstoffer, known for his notoriety in leaking information about forthcoming gadgets, also posted a photo on Twitter. The supposed image allegedly features the Galaxy S8, which he had obtained from Chinese tech site GizChina last Thursday, Jan. 19.

Hemmerstoffer went on to say later that the photo he shared was not accurate.

Nevertheless, his leak somehow added fuel to the fire on two of the biggest rumors that have been circulating all over the internet about the Galaxy S8. Not only is the smartphone rumored to feature smaller bezels, top and bottom, it will also reportedly function without a physical home button. This means that the home button could be embedded into the smartphone's display.

Despite all the leaks and speculations, nothing is certain until Samsung officially announces the Galaxy S8. Many expect that the gadget will be introduced this February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
