Samsung Galaxy S8 release date, specs news 2016: Flagship to sport Snapdragon 830? 8 GB RAM and 2K/4K video recording to be expected

Although the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is the company's most imminent product set for launch, the Samsung Galaxy S8 still gets a fair share of attention, with a new leak suggesting it should be an object of interest.

As per the leak, Samsung's 2017 flagship will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, which, if the rumors are to be believed about the chipset, will make the Samsung Galaxy S8 a total flagship killer.

The processor, which Samsung will actually manufacture, is rumored to be based on 10 nm architecture, which will make it smaller and should allow Samsung to use that saved space to bring in more power.

The Snapdragon 830 will reportedly be able to handle 8 GB of LPDDRX RAM and support 2K and 4K video recording, which means that the Samsung Galaxy S8 could actually have all those.

With the said chip on board, the Samsung Galaxy S8 should have no case of overheating even with double the performance it is expected to churn out.

This is thanks to all eight cores of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830, as suggested in the latest report. With the said chipset used on the Samsung Galaxy S8, the flagship is definitely one to watch.

Despite the talks about Samsung going for the Qualcomm heavyweight, it is also believed that the smartphone will also have an Exynos processor, which BGR says could be built with the10nm FinFET process as well to produce the same amount of power.

Samsung typically uses both Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets on its flagships, so the Samsung Galaxy S8 is expected to come with variants that offer these processors.

Meanwhile, previous rumors also suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will go for Ultra HD (high definition), which means that it might even boast Virtual Reality support.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 is slated for launch early next year.
