Samsung is allegedly working on a new version of the Gear 360 virtual reality camera. Dubbed the Samsung Gear 360 Pro, the second-generation device is believed to have the model number SM-R210.

According to reports, the purported device was spotted on Indian import tracker website Zauba wherein it was found in their database with the label "Sample Samsung Camera Set." However, apart from that, it did not reveal any more details about the device.

It comes with a price tag of around $190. But since Zauba isn't always correct with their price information, it's still unknown for now how much it will really cost. Also, the original Gear 360 is currently priced at $350 so it's less likely that the price will be below that. It may even go higher as improvements are expected.

Reports said that the Gear 360 Pro will be coming with enhanced image and video quality. It's expected to be equipped with better features compared to its predecessor that has a bright f/2 lens, dual CMOS 15-megapixel sensor, and dual F2.0 fisheye lens. Both the front and rear lenses each capture 180 degrees horizontally and vertically, giving a perfect and complete 360-degree filed of view.

Moreover, the Samsung VR camera sports a 0.5-inch (72 x 32) PMOLED display and 1 GB of RAM. Its battery is 1,350 mAh. The device is also easy to use and can easily be connected to any Galaxy smartphone via Bluetooth. Then with the use of Wi-Fi Direct, the large screen will become a very handy remote viewfinder. Transferring files is also very simple.

As of now, nothing is certain yet about the Samsung Gear 360 Pro but rumor has it that it will be launched earl next year together with the Galaxy S8 smartphone. Interested fans will have to stay tuned for more updates.. Until Samsung releases official announcements, these speculations should be taken with a grain of salt.
