Samsung S6 Specs and Features Rumors: New Device Will Be Curved?
Samsung is keeping plans for its upcoming flagship the Galaxy S6 under wraps, but it has hinted that the device could have a curve.
The revelation was made in invitations sent out for an event that will be held on March 1 in Barcelona.
The press invitation is titled "Samsung Galaxy Unpacked" and features an image of a device with a curved screen resembling the Galaxy Note Edge. After weeks of rumors that Samsung was going to announce its flagship S6 device during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the invitation was believed by many to be a confirmation of the launch.
The exact details on the upcoming Galaxy S6 remained unknown and will only be divulged, according to sources, when it is launched on March 1.
Nonetheless, leaks about its features and design have come out. Rumors hinted that Samsung will be releasing two versions of the device, one of which will have a flexible edge.
Last month a carrier website even included the words "Samsung Galaxy S Edge" in its content. Following the delivery of the press invitations, the rumor of a flexible edge device seemed to have been confirmed.
As for the specs and features, ZDNET reported that the Galaxy S6 could come with a full metal body, either 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, a Super AMOLED display with a high resolution, and a 20 megapixel camera.
However, rumors indicated that Samsung is not using the Snapdragon 810 processor in the device and will instead use its homegrown Exynos 7420 processor, until overheating problems with the Qualcomm processor have been resolved.
GSMArena said Samsung could be including a new payment system on the S6 based on LoopPay technology. This featured is expected to be linked to its improved finger print sensor which, according to rumors, will move away from the current swiping motion.
